war and Pietermaritzburg One of my earliest memories was an occasion when a friend of my Mother drove us up to Pietermaritzburg from Durban so that we could see my Father stationed at Hay Paddock undergoing training before he embarked for Egypt. I remember talking to him through a barb-wire fence in the moonlight |
