david cecil oxford matiwane - dco
Little data is available for the late struggle hero D.C.O. Matiwane. We are busy with his biography and are looking for articles, pictures and related stories of his time. This is also required for academic research purposes. Feel free to contact Thami Shange on 084 5199 438.

Pmb history

I have almost 1 000 postcards of Pietermaritzburg from 1900 to date. Took me a while to collect. Lovely to see old buildings now gone or derelict. Rob

The Chiazzari family
I have recently been researching my family history which was initially very difficult as my family's origins are in Italy. However I was lucky to be in contact with a very kind man, Mr Mario Berruti, who extensively researched the family in Italy. He has now produced a book on the Chiazzari family from Italy to South Africa. It has been a most fascinating and rewarding experience.

war and Pietermaritzburg
One of my earliest memories was an occasion when a friend of my Mother drove us up to Pietermaritzburg from Durban so that we could see my Father stationed at Hay Paddock undergoing training before he embarked for Egypt. I remember talking to him through a barb-wire fence in the moonlight
